Field Hockey
Varsity
Williston field hockey values sportsmanship and team togetherness above all, and we have found success each year with athletes who are both brand new to the sport and those who have played for years. The program fields two levels of play to accommodate the varied level of experience. With the simple goal of working together to improve each day, we focus on team strategies, personal health and fitness, and individual stick handling skills. Most importantly, though, we constantly remind each other how much fun it is to play this great game! On the varsity level, the Wildcats play a competitive schedule that includes traditional rivals Berkshire, Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Suffield, Taft and Westminster. Williston is a member of the Western New England Prep league and has been very successful within Class B over the last two decades. We have held the title of league champions since 2010 and have earned bids to the NEPSAC tournament thirteen times since 1997. In the fall of 2015, Williston won its first NEPSAC Class B championship in thrilling triple overtime fashion! The program has a long tradition of excellence and many former players have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Recent graduates have competed at Colby, Connecticut College, Middlebury, M.I.T., Wheaton and Williams.
