Hall of Fame 2018

Molly Matthews Connor '88

Introduction by Tori Palumbo ’18

Good afternoon, my name is Tori Palumbo, class of 2018, and I have the privilege of presenting Molly Matthews Conner ‘88 for induction into the Hall of Fame.

During her time at Williston, Ms. Conner was an accomplished three sport varsity athlete in field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse. In the fall, she was one of the leading scorers for Coach Ann Pickrell’s field hockey team.In the spring, she was a captain and MVP of the girls’ lacrosse team.During the winter, she was a captain and MVP of ice hockey during both her junior and senior years, scoring 76 points during her career at Williston. In the spring of her final year, in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments, Ms. Conner was awarded the 1988 Alumnae Award given to the top senior female athlete in the school. While enrolled at Williston, she also played for a local club ice hockey team, the Connecticut Polar Bears, that won a national championship in 1986, and were runners-up in both 1987 and 1988. Her outstanding career at Williston earned her a scholarship to play at the University of New Hampshire where she enjoyed a terrific career as part of two ECAC-winning teams—the highest team accomplishment at that time for women’s hockey. Not surprisingly, Ms. Conner continues to be very active in sports today. She has spent many years coaching lacrosse and continues to play ice hockey today, helping lead her senior team to the 2006 and 2011 Massachusetts state championship as well as the national quarterfinals.

It is my great pleasure to invite Ms. Molly Matthews Conner to the stage to accept her award.
